Llaràs

Llaràs

Llaràs is a small hamlet located in the western sector of the municipality of Baix Pallars, southeast of the Pla de Corts. It is an outlying settlement belonging to the village of Peramea, currently made up of two houses that operate as rural accommodation.

The first records we have of the settlement date from the late 11th century, and it was linked to the castle of Peramea. The monastery of Gerri also held possessions there, thanks to donations of land, farmsteads and fields made by the counts of Pallars. Its parish church, Sant Cebrià, must have remained within the sphere of the abbey of Gerri, as it does not appear mentioned in the pastoral visits of the bishopric of Urgell.

Before reaching Llaràs, you can visit the dolmen of la Mosquera, a testimony to the megalithic heritage of the Pla de Corts. It is a collective burial monument from the Bronze Age.

Set in the Pla de Corts, with spectacular views over the Boumort range and the Baén area, Llaràs has great scenic beauty and is an ideal place for hiking and mountain biking.
